The average American doesn’t have enough money on hand to cover a $1,000 emergency. Most rely on credit cards and loans to get them through until the next paycheck. The mounting debt buries them quickly, never allowing them to escape from under the rock. We need to have tough conversations with our family and friends to break this cycle. In an era of enlightenment and discovery, it’s amazing that we haven’t been teaching the truth about money.
